A generous land, an ancient know-how and all the genuineness of the country tradition. With these simple ingredients begins the story of Salumi Caputo, which for over 70 years has been producing Sicilian cured meats of excellence in Sant’Angelo di Brolo, an ancient village on the slopes of the Nebrodi Mountains. In this unique place in the world in 1950 Gaetano Rifici, Grandfather Tanu for us, opened the doors of his small village butcher's shop and started the production of his own specialty: a salami with a captivating taste, which in a short time conquers even the most demanding, paving the way for exports throughout the island and for the virtuous growth of the company. In 1991, after almost half a century of hard work and pursuit of excellence, the company and the secrets of grandfather Tanu's specialties passed to the new Caputo generation who, under the guidance of Anna and Salvatore, made the company prosper by combining the best of the charcuterie tradition with the most modern technologies in the food sector and obtaining in 2006 the prestigious IGP mark to protect Salame S. Angelo, the family specialty. A heritage that has come today to Michela and Gaetano Caputo, new custodians of ancient knowledge and flavors and visionary entrepreneurs who trace the bright future of the company with foresight.
